Have you tried an ear wax kit? I brought one of those boxes with a water squirting bulb and some drops to put in your ears. I realized I was starting to have a hard time hearing people talk. It wasn't a big deal but saying "what" at least a couple times a day was getting annoying.

So I got in the bath and turned to one side. Drip drip drip and my ear was filled with the liquid. I heard the crackling noise the directions mentioned and I waited about 5 minutes.

Then I started to flush my ear with warm water. At first there was nothing and wahoO! Oh my GOD! There was a chunk of wax, all in one piece, the size of a pea.

(( sorry, no photo... I flushed it! ))

So I did the next ear and found a smallish pea-sized chunk also. This is so disgusting but on the other hand, at least it is out of my ears! I think my hearing has improved too.

Never had ear wax.. or enough built up to be FRICKING NASTY :barf;

I lent my friend my iPod.. and when I got it back, the earbuds were covered in nasty orange ear wax. I literally felt like puking, and as I typed this post, I had the same urge again

I didn't think I had any buildup either. Q-tips every once in a while but nothing major. Do you know what is in your ear canals? Might be dried up and lurking down there!

edit: Yeah, it is kind of nasty but what else is Off Topic for?

Yep, that is what is in the bottle. I didn't have one of those little squirty things though.
 
I had it done professionally at a doctor's once...the hearing improvement was incredible. High frequency response especially improved. I need to do it again as I'm having to say "what?" a lot lately. Dunno if I want to mess around with my own ears, even if it is just drops and warm water.

Do you know what the procedure name was? Or did you just ask them to clean out your ears?
