I had an ear infection once. It was a PAIN IN THE ARSE and cost me a few hundred dollars going to the clinic.

speaking of ears, my left ear often have this loud crackling noise if i push it or hear something loud... it's very annoying and i can't seem to find what's causing it. anybody else have this problem?

i clean my ears very often so it can't be normal ear wax.

I dont know if its wrong but, if you dont clean your ears properly with a Q-tip you can remove some of those fine hairs in your ear that are needed to differentiate some types of sound? I don't think so grow back? Im totally not sure on this but if anyone knows for a fact bash me or support me. 🙂

Had a roommate in college... His idea of nirvana was wetting a q-tip in his mouth and then cleaning his ear.

Sup Chad, nice to see you posting my personal bad habits on the internet. You don't see me going around telling people that you used to keep a blow up doll and leather whip in your closet back when we were living in the dorms. Besides, the spit helped lube my ear.

Once a day, right after I shower. I use a Q-tip, but I don't put it in very far...

Same here, I just do it once a day.

While showering I tilt my head so water goes into my ear, both sides.

Then I get out of the shower, dry my Ferengi self off, put on some deoderant, then use a q tip to clean/dry my inner ears then I put on a little cologne.

Of course I use coupons, price matching, sales and rebates to get a Hot Deal on the deoderant, q tips and cologne.

I do it once every 2 days. After shower of course.

Don't do it more than once a day. Once a day is normal, but prefer once every 2 days. The reason that your ear gets infections is everytime you try to clean your ear, you get some of the stuff out, but push some of the stuff in.

I love the feling of cleaning my ears. It's right up there with an orgasm 😉
Eargasm?

Have you guys ever petted or scratched a dog in a certain place and he starts to thump his hind legs as if you've just hit a magic spot? It sounds like ear cleaning provokes a similar response.

I use a bobby-pin to clean my ear. Q-tips tend to impact the wax further in, whereas the bobby-pin can hook the goop and pull it out. And you're right, ear cleaning does feel good!

Chuck Palanhuk (author of Fight Club) in one of his books (I think it was Survivor) described a character giving another guy an ear cleaning. He rolled a piece of paper into a long funnel, then stuck the narrow end down into his ear. Then made the guy tilt his head down and then lit the paper on fire. He put the fire out before the paper burned too close to his head, but in the meantime the heat caused the wax to wick up the paper. Just like melting candel wax. Don't think I'd want to try this myself though.

You can pour peroxide into your ears and lay on your side for a while, too. That will melt the max, you tip your head to drain it out, then flush your ear with warm water. Works better than Q-Tips.
