I seem to be addicted to cleaning my ears; I probably clean them three times a day.
And yes I do that thing that you?re not supposed to I.E. putting the Qtip deep in the ear canal and rooting around for any
stray wax. Problem is if you do it too much you'll get ear infections and I had two in the last three years all attributed to over cleaning .

See the problem is it feels soooo good I literally get a head rush from it,
the more i clean the more sensitive my ears get which makes the endorphin rush that much greater.
The trick is not over doing just maintaining that perfect balance of sensitivity without getting an ear infection.

So i think this is a bad habit which is caused by my addictive personality and personal grooming habits.

Do you clean your ears often?

Does it feel great?

are you out of control like me?

are you interested in starting a self help group?

This definitely goes off the deep end of the fetish pool...

Ear cleaning is addictive. Same thing when a beautiful woman washing my hair.

dude...i have the same fetish!!! Seriously though, for some reason the inside of my ears get oily sometimes...usually on really hot/humid days. I put a Q-tip in there and it comes out damp (not waxy...just...damp?) I always figured this was normal/hereditary since my dad does it too.

The reason you get ear infections is because of the lack of ear wax produced by your Ceruminous Glands in your ear canal.

As with almost anything that the body produces, there is a purpose for it. In this case, it is to protect dust and other harmful things from getting into your brain. So, simply said, I wouldn't clean them too often.

A job I once had gave us an unlimited supply of six inch single ended wooden handled q-tips. They weren't fluffy like the consumer types, but they worked better. So practically everybody that worked there was always cleaning their ears. Myself included.

The biggest danger is pushing earwax deeper into your ear, causing damage to the eardrum.

Jeff Foxworthy said it best (remember him?), "While personal hygiene is important, remember to use your own keys when cleaning your ears."

At school, I once lent a pen to a guy and I saw him cleaning his ears with it. Then I saw him flick off some wax off the pen. Suffice it to say, I didn't ask for the pen back...

Asian beauty stores have these so-called ear_pick.
Its a toothpick liked stick with a scoop at the end.
You get someone to flash a light to your ear and pick wax out of your ears this way.
OOOoooooo, it feels sensational.

I've never tried using this pick on myself as I probably would do seriiously damage to my eardrums.
A damp Qtip works best on one's self.

People develop 2 types of wax in their ears.
Damped and dried.
Mine are dried but I know some of my brother and sister's are damped.

I clean my ears frequently. Like after showering etc. Now, never talk to me again. :) -TAL

I DEFINITELY know the feeling that you are talking about. Something about it feels pretty good.

But on the other hand, I don't have the problem that you do.

Same here, I just do it once a day.

While showering I tilt my head so water goes into my ear, both sides.

Then I get out of the shower, dry my Ferengi self off, put on some deoderant, then use a q tip to clean/dry my inner ears then I put on a little cologne.

Of course I use coupons, price matching, sales and rebates to get a Hot Deal on the deoderant, q tips and cologne.

I know exactly how you feel. I q-tip my ear just for the heck of it. I'll be drinking a beer, i'll qtip. I'll be watching Simpson, I'd qtip. I'll be hitting on a hot girl, I'd qtip while talking penis to her. It does feel awesome, kinda like a massage, except for your ears. I don't get ear infections though.
