not bad, more cripsy than made in the oven, doesn't seem greasy at all, it had to soak up oil but the outside is dry. This is the Pizza Pocket, I want to try other varieties.

I approve of everything you've done here. Today, I'm proud to be an American :salute;.

Thank you, I washed it down with the rest of the pitcher of Tropical Punch Kool Aid, wasn't much left but it definitely complimented the fried hot pocket wonderfully!

Oven? Put them in the microwave. 2 minutes and they're ready to go.

in the Microwave they come out a limp disaster. You might like them on the soft side, I like mine semi cripsy. I can't think of anything I like Microwaved, I usually use it to save time when I'm extra hungry.

Yeah, pretty much everything tastes better baked rather than microwaved.

In the microwave things get soggy and warm
In the oven things get dry and warm

Combine the two for perfection.

I had one of those at the county fair, they dip a frozen twinkie in batter
fry it then cover it in chocolate sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
I almost went into a sugar-coma after finishing it...

Woah, was this post targeted at me? Who told?

Yes, I have. Meatballs and Mozzarella hot pocket in a deep fryer filled with shortening.

Delicious. I'd do it again.

EDIT: It looks like you're after technique. Don't throw it in frozen. Don't throw ANYTHING into a deep fryer frozen. Defrost it in the microwave first, like 50% power for a few mins.

The crisping sleeves don't work for me either, in the microwave. What I found was that they are a lot better when baked in the toaster oven (without the sleeves). But that means waiting 20 minutes instead of 2 minutes.

By the way, if it comes out good, you should consider going for the Hot Pocket Monte Cristo. I've not done it. In fact, I think I just thought of it (too lazy to google prior art). But I want to try it.

Ham and Cheese hot pocket, battered, deep fried. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve.

Defrosting it in the microwave before throwing it in the fryer was probably a good idea. I don't know about Hot Pockets, but throwing frozen turkeys into a fryer has some bad results. :p

Points for novelty, execution, brilliance. (I'm sort of a health nut too, but this is great)

Alot of things are frozen when they are tossed in the deep fryer. French fries, tater tots (and other associated potato products), cheese sticks, fish sticks, chicken tenders.... all frozen.

the Hot Pocket was fun, but not really that amazing of an ideal. I mean in NY they have some sort of Italian sammich - my ex boss told me about it. It's basically like a Calzone but deep fried.

I am about to scoure her fridge to find something unique to try to fry. She has these DELICIOUS Hot Links from Costo, maybe I can make like a french toast batter, wrap a hot link up in a peice of white bread, dip in batter and fry away.

and if it's nasty I can wash it down with Tropical Punch Kool Aid ummmmmm Kool Aid!

I tried to deep fry a raw steak when I worked in the Deli at Safeway back in high school.

It didn't turn out so well.
