they seem to take forever in the oven, and that stupid silver colored microwave container that's supposed to make them crispy is SHIT. My GF has a kick ass deep fryer and I'm searching for new things to put in there.

Oven? Put them in the microwave. 2 minutes and they're ready to go.

what's the worst that can happen? it will explode and ooze cheese everywhere probably, GF left the oil in there forever and a day now anyways - which reminds me besides becoming rancid or aqquiring the taste of whatever you've fried in there, are there any concerns for using old oil?

I have no idea what temp or how long but I'm going to experiment and hope it comes out right.

in the Microwave they come out a limp disaster. You might like them on the soft side, I like mine semi cripsy. I can't think of anything I like Microwaved, I usually use it to save time when I'm extra hungry.

Wouldn't you need to microwave it first to start the warming process? Does the hot oil transfer enough heat energy fast enough to thaw out the center of a frozen solid hot pocket?

Yeah, pretty much everything tastes better baked rather than microwaved.

Well, it will only cost him $2-3 to find out, and he gets two tries, right? :D

if you can deep-fry a Twinkie I would venture a Hot Pocket would be fine.

GOOD idea, pre-heating the fryer right now, maybe I'll microwave it for a minute first! As for 2 tries, she got the ginormous ass box from Costo, so technically I have about 24 tries to get it right. I think I'll stop if the 2nd doesn't come out delicious though.

THANK you Savij for the advice, my method would have resulted in hot cripsy outside and frozen inside ugh...

Stouffer used to list "micro-bake" directions for their French bread pizzas wherein they'd first be microwaved, then baked. Dunno if they still do, but that method worked out pretty well.

1:20 in Microwave +
2 minutes in Deep Fryer @ 350f =

not bad, more cripsy than made in the oven, doesn't seem greasy at all, it had to soak up oil but the outside is dry. This is the Pizza Pocket, I want to try other varieties.
