I'll never understand that comment about relaxing. I'm on my gaming PC right now. I'm sitting in a very comfortable accent chair with a 46" monitor. I'm not sitting at another desk to play my games.

It's pointless comparing PC's to consoles..I'm not sure why people do it. It's a futile, pointless argument. They cater to two totally different markets. It's like comparing an expensive sports car/hot rod to a basic Toyota Camry. Two totally different price points, two totally different types of people are interested in them. I doubt people are doing that in automotive forums, and they shouldn't be doing it here for gaming. The recliner/couch argument I see all the time is retarded though tbh.

How many people have PC's in their living/family room or have enough room where their computer is to have a large chair/large tv. The fact is that people usually have their computers in offices or bedrooms, not in large rooms so the comment is fine.

I don't know, I've never done a poll. Anyone could easily do it though. I just get tired of that comment because it pushes this stereotype that PC gamers are huddled in a corner desk in a cheap chair with shooting back pain, while console gamers are relaxed lounging back like you're sunbathing at a pool playing their games.

I have a 360, a ps3, and my pc all connected to the same 46" tv. My pc btw is circa 2007, q6600 and I think a 4850.

I played Tomb Raider on all 3, the pc looked considerably better as well as running at what I perceive to be a smoother frame rate. That's at 1080p.

My laptop also can run Tomb Raider at 1080p, no problem. Its about 3 years old with an i5 and some kind of Radeon card.

Has nobody heard of "Big Picture" for Steam. Kick back in your lay-z-boy with a controller anytime you want.

Even if you made all the graphics options identical, the Xbox360 and PS3 will outperform hardware from 2005 in modern games. Simple as that. Now, if you find a benchmark for a game like Skyrim that shows a 7900GTX can run the game reasonable similar a console at the same framerate, then you might have an argument.

Skyrim on PS3/X360 is = Oblivion (just a different story).

Please don't compare Skyrim on console vs. PC. Oblivion on 2006 PC hardware is STILL >> current consoles running Skyrim.

The data isn't perfect, but a rough comparison is possible. A 8800 GT is about 30-40% faster in most games than the 7900 GTX. The 8800GTX gets around 30 frames per second on high at 1680x1050. 1650x1050 is about twice the number of pixels as 1280x720 (the Xbox 360's resolution before upscaling). I'd say it wouldn't be a stretch to say a 7900 GTX can run Skyrim at 720p and 30 frames per second, at roughly the same detail.

If we look at a table based on user reported statistics (no the most reliable, but they've been aggregated pretty thoroughly), we see that a 7900 GTX is called "low/medium", which is said to roughly correlate with console settings.

That's strange, because there are few companies who sell more games than them. I guess Apple knows shit about phones and MS knows shit about OSes as well right?

You're right. The XBox One and PS4 are going to f'n ROCK Bejewed Blitz and Tetris Online in ways no PC ever could!
