I really enjoyed Dead Space, I only played the first game but it was solid. But it honestly did not feel that old that it needs a remake yet. The general rule is something needs to be out there for 20 years before it becomes "vintage" and IMO worthy of a remake. 12 years since DS1, needs more time in the oven IMO.
However, to play devils advocate, if you're going to have a game really benefit from the current state of Ray-Tracing then moddy dark, slow paced horror games are the way to go.
