EA to buy PopCap Games

Not surprising given growth of tablets and such that their catalogue would likely be the most popular at.

So nevermind 'consolization' - now we should worry about 'tabletization'?

Do worry about it, it's EA, they can do anything thinking it's going to work, most of us gamers around should be used to them by now shouldn't we. Again, I'll say it, it's EA, think about it (not too much though, there's "losing time", and then "losing time", too, everything done in moderation is better).

So which company isn't charging for stupid DLC shit that you would rather see buy Popcap?

Anyone whose DLC is completely aesthetic and doesn't gimp you if you don't have it. Like Valve (and their stupid hats).

I'd rather see PopCap with no one, but as I said earlier business is business. No doubt the money from EA will help on PopCap's goals but I didn't have a problem on how they were doing things before this deal.

PC gamer has a rumor up the EA is offering 1 BILLION DOLLARS for PopCap

Seriously, PopCap? PopCap of Plants vrs Zombies, Bejeweled and Peggle fame? 1 BILLION DOLLARS? Damn I have to stop reading forums and start making flash games!

Ha!

Still...1 BILLION DOLLARS!?!?!

I can't believe with the resources EA has that they can't come up with some casual games in their in house studio for a couple of million. Snap City a Sim City derivative wasn't so bad. Hell they have those 2 guys from 2015 that could put together a few flash games for a hell of a lot less then a billion.

EA has no talent. They just buy it from other companies and then force them to work on projects that made said companies a lot of money.

Pay $1 billion and turn a dev to making more crappy games instead of focusing on decrapify their vast IP they are sitting on.

Sounds like a good business plan!
