Our investigation shows that information such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security. Please visit this ****** to reset your password immediately.

Plants vs. Hackers? Just got this email today. Good thing I only have 2 games on EA's stupid system. Not sure why they mention all the individual items that may have been compromised. Can't they just say the hackers pretty much got every piece of stored information and go with that?

I know the popular move is to shout "Fuck EA", but we have to remember that these are two way deals. All these companies that EA are buying are agreeing to the purchase offer, so if anything we should also be upset with them for selling out (but then again, wouldn't you do the same if you were in their place?).

The thing about the corporate world is you dont even have to voluntarily sell out. If you are a small group with limited control over your shares than all a larger company has to do is buy up 51% of you and its all over. Eventually they will shoehorn all the other investors out whether you like it or not.

Because fuck EA (and Activision, but this thread isn't about them). I vote with my wallet, and I choose not to support EA. I would probably buy a PvZ sequel, though.

So, you don't but you do.

This. Though, I'm sure the bigger share holders in PopCap will easily get a nice payout.

I don't think consolidation in the mobile app markets is a good thing, it'll stifle innovation & creativity there just like it on the desktop and consoles.

I seriously doubt PopCap was a public company with actively traded shares. This was not a hostile takeover, be realistic.

I think EA just shooting itself in the foot. Unless they let Popcap do what's it's been doing it won't do as well. As soon as that niche opens up some other small company will jump in, maybe started by former Popcap employees.
