If you clicked OK on the EA games and or Origins EULA then you agreed to get ass pumped by EA games unwittingly or otherwise and without any lube.

:colbert:

Ok, what is the real consequence of using Origin? Do I:

Lose any money I don't want to spend? Nope.
Am I forced to spend time in a way I don't want to? Nope.

The only thing is that they MIGHT be monitoring my activity so they can adjust their advertising accordingly, and might be giving non-personally identifiable information to business partners for research purposes.

Whoop-dee-doo?

Moreover, it's nothing really different than what is in Steam's EULA. I'd bet the only reason there was an explosion over Origin but not (comparatively speaking) Steam had nothing to do with the actual EULA. EA has been (perhaps not undeservedly) thought of as a big, evil money-grabbing corporation that doesn't care about the gamer, while Valve has the reputation (again, perhaps not undeservedly) as the trustworthy little game studio that cares deeply about their customers. No one wants to get mad at Valve, but plenty of people were already harboring bad feelings about EA and the Origin EULA debacle was just another outlet for them to hate on EA. I don't give a damn in my purchasing choices about what other people think. Origin's EULA didn't seem like a big deal to me.
