The gameplay. If you haven't played any of the next-gen versions of the game, they're simply not as good. The control isn't as tight, the controls are laid out strange, all around just not as much fun to play. Plus they've gotten rid of Michaels/Madden as commentators, and replaced them with AWFUL, drab, boring radio announcers. The overall presentation - the menu system and whatnot - is also a step back. Considering how much time you spend in the menu system during a franchise, doing roster work, drafting, stats, etc, that's a pretty important aspect.

I bought 08 the day it was released, and I still haven't finished my first season in my franchise. I have no desire to play the game anymore.

Good luck with that Pete.

It's be nice if they setup an alternating schedule at least. Let EA get it one year and another company the next at least that way there's some competition.

The last madden game I bought was 03 on the PS2 which I found for 10 bucks used. I usually pick up at least one sports game a generation usually either NFL or NHL.

I can understand why EA Games is afraid of competition, but I don't understand why the NFL will sell out it's fans so cheaply.

That's what I was wondering when they first got the exclusive license.

The only thing they don't SAY is how much this cost them. I bet it has to be HUGE $$$$$$$$.

Madden '07 and '08 have been extreme disappointments for me on the xbox 360.

Severe lag in multiplayer, even while playing friends less than a mile away absolutely ruins Madden for me.

Not to mention while playing franchise mode, any players released by CPU teams are never resigned by other CPU teams.

What a joke.

'07 had so much dumb shit in it, sometimes I was thinking "did they ever even bother playing this?" Don't even want to try the series anymore, it's not fun to me.
