To be honest, as far as I'm concerned they tarnished their reputation with me far too much to ever, ever recover from it. EA is and always will be trash to me, and it's their own fault.

You will miss some great games then.

Haven't missed a single one yet. They actually have something good on the horizon? *scoff*

I'll be buying Bioshock II

They no longer publish either the Madden or NHL series for the PC. I'm especially annoyed about the NHL news, because last year they promised they were going to bring the PC version up to par with the PS3/360 versions instead of rehashing NHL 2005 with updated rosters. Ugh.

bunch of fucking sensitive babies around here

they are fine, sure they fuck shit up, but they also make good games, so meh, who cares

EA makes very few games. They are a publisher first. One who buys up good developers and then turns their games into piles of crap.

EA is just another big company that tries to appeal to the mass market middle ground and does not want to take a risk and innovate. I also think they are emphasizing console games at the expense of the PC because that is where they can make the most money.
I also think Bioware may never be the same since they were bought out (or sold themselves out) to EA.
BTW, what about microsoft. They sure did their part to put a stake in the heart of PC gaming too. Even though they claim to support it, didnt they disband the studio that made the AOE games. And Games for Windows: what a joke. I cant believe that even microsoft could really be incompetent enough to mess that up so bad if they really were strongly behind it.

Your second statement is indisputable, but I disagree with the first. Riccitiello and Mirror's Edge turned them around in my eyes and going out of their way to pick up Brutal Legend, a game that was dropped by a much more soulless and risk-averse publisher, pretty much redeemed them.

That doesn't mean they aren't still making soulless games, just that they aren't actively destroying the industry as part of their business plan anymore. I think people are overreacting about Bioware; their games have been average for a very long time now.

On the other hand, they have the same hilariously shameless marketing instincts as Sony.
