EA bringing slew of Hasbro board games to XBLA

Press Release - Starting this Spring, EA is bringing classic Hasbro board games such as Scrabble, Boggle, Battleship, Yahtzee, Connect Four, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders to XBLA.

Not only that, but these games will be featured on their own Hasbro Family Game Night channel on XBLA.

Pretty cool. I've been wondering when someone was going to get around to bringing board games other than strategy board games like Catan to XBLA. Seems like it would make sense given the target audience.

I don't see Scrabble and Battleship being played on the same console though for obvious reasons. Bummer.

I thought that Infogrames / Atari had the exclusive license to make Hasbro video games? 😕

Does this mean that EA can make D&D games now?

EA entered into a deal/partnership with Hasbro in 2007. They've already released a couple of games like the Nerf-N-Strike game for the Wii.

Bah! None of those really interest me. Risk would be nice (the new version, which is apparently better).

Ugh, going from German games like Catan/Carcassonne/Ticket to Ride to Hasbro is a downgrade in my book. Still, I guess it's good to have something for everyone.
