So I'm starting to see ads for this on TV and my sketicism is being replaced by giddy optimism as the release date approaches. It looks like this may actually be a worthy successor to SSX 3. OK, so it's apparently still several different locales, but each of those locales is its own mountain with multiple ways to the bottom, not the single-path tracks of SSX Tricky. The "boss challenges" sound gimmicky, but they could be an entertaining way to mix things up, and they don't sound like they're that big a part of the game regardless. I may have to pre-order now...

im 90% buying this game at launch.

i know right now you can get it at newegg and TRU for $45 online.

does anyone know if TRU B&M stores are the same as online? i don't want to wait the 3-4 days to get the game from these $45 deals lol so i may go just pick it up for $60 at the store locally. but i have a TRU right next to my gym, and i keep forgetting to go in there after i lift to see if i can preorder it at the B&M store for $45.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll probably get it as well. I mean it's SSX and if it's anywhere near as good as SSX3, it will be great.

only thing so far that i've heard that disappoints me is there is no true multiplayer. like you can't all get in a lobby and just race and then restart.

BBUUUTTTT ... from what i've heard, it sounds more like Burnout Paradise, where it's just an open world and you all can jump in and out of anywhere anytime. so you all can be on then just meet up on a mountain top and go down together.

but from what i've seen, im not sure if you actually SEE eachother and can bump into eachother, or if it just shows everyones time/score and you compare at the end.

why would you purchase a game at launch if you aren't going to play it at launch? seems like a waste of $$$ since it will drop in a month or so.

Oh I'll be playing at launch. When I drop $60 on a new game, it doesn't sit around.

The backlog mostly consists of the $20 greatest hits titles. I didn't buy a PS3 until last April, so I've been picking up the games that I've wanted to play over the years. I wouldn't pay $60 for a new game then let it sit on a shelf.

I didn't pick up my PS3 until this December and still haven't gotten around to playing any other game but Uncharted 3. You're a better man than I.

ah gotcha, that makes total sense.

well i preordered it tonight at TRU. it was $60 in store but they PM'ed it to their website for $45 while i was in store. they just looked at the website and manually overrode it with the manager writing the price on the receipt and signing it.

i just gotta hang onto that receipt lol.

To be fair, it's much better with the ps3 controller for me. For almost everything else xbox controller, but for some reason this game I prefer ps3.

nothing that requires an analog stick is better on the PSX controller.

NNOOTTHHIINNGG!!!

I agree. I think it's cause the shoulder buttons on the PS3 all feel the same, where the Xbox has bumpers and triggers that respond differently. Since the tricks all require some combination of any or all of those buttons, it feels more natural if they all give the same resistance. I also prefer my analog sticks on the same level as opposed to staggered like on the 360, but that's less of an issue.

PS3 triggers are actually worse than PS2/PSX ones imo.

back on topic... watching more and more vids of this game is getting me excited.

analog sticks are awful on ps3 too, i'll stick to my 360 instead for multiplatforms 😛

(so is online)

ps3 is for exclusives only.

one more week fuckers!

and then i will only really have 1 week to play it ... cause sfxt comes out a week after it 🙁
