E8400 vs Q6600 for $200

get the Q and OC it past 3ghz... ideally past 3.5
Or even a newer quad.

I benched my E8400 @ 3.6ghz, and other benched their quads, and we demonstrated that at some games I am CPU limited. There are many games today that for smooth FPS you need a quad core at over 3ghz. CPUs have practically stood still for quite some time now.

While video cards kept on getting better and cheaper.
 
I meant Q9450 every time i wrote Q9 (couldn't be bothered to write it out in full every time lol )

But the more ive read up, the better the Q6700 looks, ill probably wait till around 10th August (as Hugh H suggested) and see which ones cheaper. But hasn't the Q6700 already had a massive price cut ?

Q6700 is going to be phased out pretty soon, but the Q6600 will be dropping to 203US, the last price cut before it will disappear I think.
