I thought the multiplier was only supposed to go up to 9, but in my BIOS I have an option to add an extra 0.5... What is that from, and should I use it? Free MHz??

My build is in sig.

It's there because some processors have half multipliers, like the E8500 which is 9.5. I don't think it'll actually do anything on your chip, as the multipliers on non-extreme chips are locked.

It shouldn't hurt anything, but like I said I'll bet dollars to donuts it doesn't work.

It doesn't. Saw that same option on my own mobi, tried it, and it doesn't change anything.
