Great combo, I've been using it in my gaming system along with a 4870 since last July. In gaming the 2 x 3.0 GHz cores will be faster than <3 GHz socket 775 quad cores.

If the E8400 is OEM check out SilentPCReview's recent cooler roundups, there are some good ones for $15-30.

At least it was possible to do so, when I purchased a pair of OEM Seagate hard drives that were on sale several years ago. Involved a rebate, which also eventually arrived after a long wait.
