Just for grins I jumped on ebay looking for a E8400 ES, found one!

I'll bet this torques Intel to see these on ebay.

Here's a Link.

I think I wait for Feb., should be close to $200 at the egg.

Is their some reason he had to blur out the rest of the numbers on the chip picture?

Probably b/c Intel can identify who they gave the chip to if they saw the remainder of the serial #, which means the seller wouldn't ever get another ES to play with!

Intel can give me any ES they want...guaranteed I won't sell it!!

well, for what it's worth he apparently had one well prior to dec 17th and sold one on that day..matter of fact, to my eyes, it looks like the one he's selling now is exactly the same processor he sold then..(or he used the same picture, or it didn't actually sell or...)

Overpriced for the win ? The guy loves to make profits for sure, in the name of abusing a company's trust towards you, fantastic, an exemplary citizen, Mr Joe.
