I can't confirm this (because where I work is blocking the link), but I found the deal at Slickdeals.net. Thought this might be a good deal for those on the fence. If this deal isn't a deal, then I apologise and the mods can make my insides tapica pudding.

Checked the forums and, as of 5:30pm, the deal was still going....

For everyone that's having trouble getting the correct price, try the link below from Slickdeals.com...when I tried it $140 was the price.

AMAZINGLY HOT DEAL at $140...the E7200 is selling for virtually the same price with 1/2 the cache and a 500MHz clock deficiency.

so how does this compare with the Q6600? I have a 680i board that does NOT support quad core so I'm leaning towards this guy but how does the performance compare to the Q6600?

Well, its a dual core not a quad, but quite a few get to 4 gigs pretty easy. Nice chips. The slickdeals link works, but after tax and ground shipping its $161 for me. Great deal tho OP 🙂

If you're a gamer, then the e8400 fits the ticket.
Otherwise the q6600 fits the bill if you're a heavy multi-tasker.

Does any one know this can be a store pick-up?
I have one store nearby where I live, Plano,TX.
Man, at this price it's so tempting...

Does 680i support these newer cpu's?

Thanks Mod for making this subject very easy. I noticed I posted this deal 4 minutes after the Capitalizt posted. If I wasn't already gaming on one right now, I'd jump on this thing. I honestly groaned when I saw the price. Though I've had mine for about 5 months now. So I guess losing $10/month isn't too bad.

(Christopher Walken) I mean WOW, this deal is so hot!
Lol I ordered two, one two replace my old e2180 and one for my buddy whos running a single core celly on his Abit IP35E, Im guessing he will be pleased with this minor upgrade

Can someone tell me the difference between the qaud and this for gaming? Like for instance I bought the quad so I could do gaming and download or run whatever in the background. I mean is the difference substantial?
