Alright, I've tried everything that I can think of, and to no avail. Basically, the problem that I'm having is: I can move around in the BIOS fine, but right when the Windows logo comes up and it tries to boot, there is a very quick blue screen (couple miliseconds) and then the computer restarts. I should note that while most of the components are new (described below), the Raptor is using my previous installation of Windows.
My Specs:
Intel C2D E6750
G.Skill HZ PC6400 DDR-800 (2x1GB)
Asus P5K Deluxe
WD 74GB Raptor
Radeon X1900XTX
OCZ GamerXStream 700w
All of the above is new with the exception of the Raptor and the Radeon. Recently we had a power surge in my area, and my old power supply bit the dust. I figured that as long as I'm replacing the power supply, might as well upgrade everything else.
What I've tried:
- Multiple BIOS. Right now I'm at 0404, but I tried 0311 and the stock 0202.
- I figured that maybe the WD Raptor was damaged as well in the power surge, so I tried another HDD (this one IDE). It looked like it was working, but then the loading bar got extremely slow and ended up giving me the same result.
- I tried increasing both the vDimm and vCore, as well as setting timings manually and even underclocking.
- Tried each DIMM as a single.
- Didn't honestly think this would do anything, but I plugged my power supply's power cord into the wall instead of the power strip.
- Disabled the onboard SATA controller, and tried configuring the drive as ACHP and RAID rather than IDE mode (only 3 options it gives).
Please tell me there's some quick fix, or a small factor that I'm overlooking. I'm hoping to GOD that's what it is! After having just spent a fortune on 2-day shipping, I don't want to have to RMA anything and then go through the additional waiting period.
Thanks in advance for your help!
