E6700 overclocking limit

I have the Bad Axe 2 mobo, and the E6700 processor. I have Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)memory. I have a Ninja with a fan for cooling, as well as a couple of cse fans - all in an Antec P180 case. I currently have the processor overclocked to 3.2MHz with no problems.

For others with the setup, what is the max I can overclock without having to change voltages?

I obviously don't have that setup but as far as advice goes:

When you start to have stability issues at a particular OC...then you know that you are basically just beyond the max OC for that amount of volts.

If your leaving the vcore on "auto" the board is increasing the volts for you as you go up

I agree. Set your voltage manually ALWAYS. In your case...It is 1.325V.

I left the voltage at the default. If I change it to 1.325V (assuming that's not what it is now), will that do anything other than increase stabilty?

If you've left it on "auto" and overclocked to 3.2ghs you are already above 1.325. Chances are very good that if you set it manually to 1.325 you won't be able to boot at your current settings. I would start by setting it at 1.375, and if it doesn't boot at those settings then keep going up until it boots. Then you will know what your voltage truly is.
The trouble with "auto" is you never know how much the board is giving it, and every model of motherboard raises the voltage at different rates.

And the max overclock your chip will acheive differs by every single CPU and no one can tell you what it will be, and alot depends on your cooling and how much voltage you are willing to give it. All I can say is check your temps under full load and proceed accordingly

Intel desktop utility will tell you what voltage your running at, along with alot of other stuff.

At 3.2GHz, I ran Orthos for about an hour. The Processor Zone temp (according to the Intel Desktop Utilites) varied in the mid 50 degree Celius area most of the time, generally maxing at 57 to 58. It reached 60 degrees once when I lowered the speed of the case fans. The system zone temps stayed between 37 and 42 degress celius. The CPU I/O showed at 1.536V.

What are the maximum temps that I should worry about if I hit?

I hear 60C. Maybe someone more in the know can confirm this.
