Looks to me like the new Intel price cuts have finally trickled down to average consumers.
Well it's may be the best time yet to go forward with the new build.

isn't it worth to pay extra 15 or 16 bucks to get the processor from a great reseller like newegg? and get supreme commander with it?

but I do hope neweggs price drop soon, that way I can finally jump into building my first system

Ordered mine from Newegg the day before you. Wish I had known about these price drops. The E6700 is almos the same price now.

Are you a frequenter of anandtech? because if you were, judging by your posts....you should be. But since you check anandtech every so often, I can't for the life of me understand how you wouldn't have known about the price drops. I mean it was announced ages ago 😕

and pretty much everywhere, on these forums I mean. Even if you didn't venture out of Hot Deals, I'm sure I have seen several posts here that stated there are price drops

Outpost/Fry's is a great reseller, but they do tend to make a ton of price mistakes and not have the stellar customer service Newegg is known for. However, I'd say Supreme Commander is worth the $15. 😉

I can't for the life of me explain why I didn't know. I frequent these forums, but don't read everything. I usually read topics that interest me or help me with things I may need help with. I usually skim a forum's topics and read whatever jumps out at me. Price drop threads rarely jump out at me. 😛

I would love to order from Newegg but, and it is a big BUT, I live in Tennessee. Newegg charges us sales tax which puts them out of good deal range when added in. That is why I use Zipzoomfly and Outpost. So when you add 9.5% sales tax onto this, no it is not worth the extra $15 for Supreme Commander as it is closer to $37 more. You have to take that into consideration so maybe they live in a state Newegg adds sales tax.
