I am currently running my e6420 at 3.2 ghz at 1.36v. I want want to push it up to 3.3 on my arctic freezer 7 pro HSF fan but I cant seem to find the right settings. so far everytime I push it to 3.3 the PC shuts on and off while also Reseting/disabling my CPU back to stock settings. If any of you guys with an E6420 or E6400 are at 3.3 can you tell me what settings your on?

Temps at 3.2 are

32-36 @ Idle

58-61 @ Load

Thanks, Kenny

I have the same config as you. But my ds3 even cannot load at 1.39vcore, sometimes it work and accidentally it fails and reset everything back to stock. I mean, if you cannot stay stably, it is not worth the trouble for daily boot and run even you can achieve it one or two times, too annoying.

3.2 is as far as i can go orthos stable, same mobo, stock cooling.

But E6300, different chip.

Gonna add watercooling as soon as i can find the damn intel bracket for my resorator.

What defines a CPU's limit? I got it to 3.3 with 1.37v but after 5 minutes of load with TAT I blue screen but, in those 5 minutes my temps were fine 57-61 load until crash..

Usually the same steppings of a chip overclock in the same range, lower temps tend to raise that ceiling a little.

OMG you guys buy a bargain chip and add 1ghz clock and complain? The amd guys would be jumping for joy if their chips did the same thing nowadays.

My E6400 acts about the same. It goes to 3.0 with just barely over stock volts, to get it absolutely stable at 3.2 takes a sizeable jump in vcore. To get it stable at 3.3 takes much more vcore. And anything above 3.3 I can't get completely stable regardless of the amount of vcore. But oddly enough I can boot to windows and run most benches up to 3.6

My E6420 is L702A589 something.

It goes to 3.4 but had to bump vcore to 1.4

At this point either my memory or my motherboard is crapping out. Orthos works fine doing the cpu but doing blend or memory only causes instant crap.
