E6400 TEMP.

Hello all. My idle temperature is 41C after running Orthos 15 minutes it is at 59C using stock cooling,C2d E6400.
My case is well cooled 120 mm intake and 120 mm exhaust, nice air flow.
What is the temp. spec range for my cpu?

For the 6400, Anything over 65 is bad. Your temps are fine.

I've got my E6400 at 3.6GHz right now on a Zalman 9700 and I'm running at 40 idle, 60 load so you might want to at least get some AS5 and/or a new cooler. A good air cooler can be as low as $30-50

Thats same temps i was getting with stock hsf,changed to artic freezer pro 7 now oc to 3.2G and temps are around 57 running orthos

Thanks guys,another question would which would u say is more accurate speedfan,pcwizard 2007,or bios temp?

try CoreTemp.
Definitely don't go by BIOS. You can also try Lavalys Everest or Intel Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT)
