I built a very budget C2D system with an E6300, Gigabyte S3, and 1gb of Corsair VS 667. I wasn't expecting much, but what do you guys think my maximum potential would be? right now, i'm at 2.5ghz, 5-5-5-15 @ 360x7, stock vcore, 2.0v Vdimm (1.8 stock). Its obviously memory keeping me from going much further (well, and that x7 multi). Is that about the best i can do, or am i missing something?

Well, most DDR2-667 is good for DDR2-800 speeds at the very least. Are you sure 360MHz (or DDR2 720) is the best your RAM can do at 2V? It's only a little over stock speeds... unless your RAM is already on the borderline of stability at stock speeds... then I'm afraid you got unlucky and got dud RAM.

Corsair is the stingiest company out there when it comes to binning, so i'd be surprised if you got much more than you have already.

The sad thing is you can buy generic cheapo RAM from Best Buy, etc, & it will usually OC better than Corsair's cheaper stuff.
Noticing how much love i have for Corsair?

Myself & also a buddy of mine got some Comstar brand (actually TwinMOS inside) DDR2-533 CAS 4 value crap RAM from a local shop, & both our 1 GB dimms do around 825-850 :)

I'd suggest looking around for generic Micron (as it usually OCs well) or some cheaper DDR2-800 (not Corsair or OCZ), or check thru Yoxxy's D9 RAM thread.

What memory divider are you using?
