First off let me tell you guys what this computer is for:
Gaming - Bf2, CS:S, Bf 2142, QW:ET
School work - Powerpoint, Microsoft Word
Internet Browsing - forums and what not
Small videos - making movies for Bf2

Now heres what I want from you guys:
1. First off is everything compatible
2. Am i missing any parts (besides printer, monitor)
3. Reccomend new parts, only if they are cheaper
4. Comment on how you think it will perform in games
5. Say anything you realy have to say about this build.. thanks

That's a pretty good system for the price. However, I would DEFINITLY recommend not getting that monitor if your current monitor is good enough for you, and use that money to get something like an X1900XT or something, but that's your call.

But the video card is good if you still want the monitor. The CPU is great too, but if you can, get the E6400.

Other than that, a great setup.

I currently have some Dell 17" LCD... smaller screen/smaller resolution

Being a gamer I almost need a 19" LCD... it calls my name

19" is nice, but it's not much of an upgrade from 17". Either sell the 17" (DO NOT USE DUAL SCREENS, YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO GO TO SINGLE AGAIN) and put it towards a better GPU etc or don't bother at all.

17" and 19" are both normally 1280x1024, the difference is in the pixel size.

well 2 things to say on that

1. This monitor is like 5 years old, probobly can't go that high up in resolution, is there someone I can check to see which monitor it is?

2. The computer I have now is going to be moved upstairs... not getting rid of it

given what I want out of the computer, my $1,200 budget, and the fact I need a whole new set of parts....

i have a 7600gt, it does great with BF2 and CSS at that resolution.

"Full version of XP Pro" for $80? Sounds fishy to me. And why should a dual core cpu make any difference between using XP Home or Pro?

Hmm.. what is differnt between PRO and HOME?

aw.. it wasn't a one day sale before.. darn

What would happend if I used DDR2 667 on a DDR2 800 mobo? will it still work

The others don't realy appeal to much.. the mouse has so many buttons it'll hurt my brain
The keyboard, just like the mouse, has so many extra buttons it's kind of pointless, plus its more money

Everything else you realy just suggested I buy off a differnt site to save a few bucks... I'd like to stick to newegg/tiger... the less sites to register and order from the better

Except for the OS, as from above I'm thinking about that

If you are not OC'ing the cpu, then you should go with the cheaper. Right now, DDR2-667 is the best for the price, and that is what I would recommend (and yes, 965P boards will support 533/667/800 DDR2 memory). Also, as far as using a dual core cpu, there is absolutely nothing different about XP Home and Pro.

One more thing. If you are looking for a cheaper motherboard, there should be some Intel 946PL boards appearing soon, they should go for ~$100.

I used to use dual screens, I had trouble getting used to it? Why would you say you can't use single again?

Actually, most C2Ds will have a 1066MHz (4x266) FSB, I think. But still, 667 is usually enough unless one plans to OC to the max.
