What should be the max CPU temp at 2.8ghz with that cpu? Cause I been running at around 63-64c underload with it. I heard 70c is tops you want to go with C2D.

I'm running stock HSF with AS5 on it. No voltage adjustments on CPU or anything.

Is that measured with Intel TAT, or Core Temp. In general, a C2D doesn't begin to throttle till it reaches 85C as measured with those two utilities.

without wasting a ton of time testing voltages, what would you say is a fail safe vcore to hit 2.8? the lower the better of course :)

61.4C is Tcasemax, which is the temperature at the top center of the IHS. TAT measures from inside the core.

Ahh ok that explains it.. I hurried up and reset it to default clock speed in a hurry when i read that. lol

Ok I will keep it at 2.8ghz around 65c underload until I see otherwise why I should not. I will invest in a better cooler eventually instead of stock intel HSF.

Thanks for help

Yeah, a new HSF will definitely help with temps. I've got my E6300 at 2.8GHz, and with a Big Typhoon it never passes 50C.
