e4300 to at least 2.8ghz please

i have e4300 and ip35-e and gskill dr2-800 2x1GB right now.

i need some help to overclock to at least 2.8 GHz.

If it won't go, it won't go. Overclocking numbers are insanely inaccurate if you're going by various forums on the Internet. Typically, only those that get high clocks for their specific processor actually brag about it. Then, there's a ton of people that think they're 100% stable because they think Windows is supposed to crash once a day.

Everywhere I read about the E4300, people were bragging that 3.00ghz is the minimum it would overclock to.. So I bought one. Mine will only get to 2.7ghz with a Tunic tower, lapped, extra voltage, PC&P power supply, etc.. And I've overclocked a TON of computers. The only other people on these forums I know to be honest said 2.5 ghz and 2.7 ghz was what they could get theirs to.. Now, I'm not saying 3.00ghz isn't acheivable for E4300's.. but I would say that in my experience, it is somewhat rare.

BTW, with a TON of extra voltage (like.. 1.55v), I can make it run 'stable' for about 10 hours at 3.00ghz.. Not worth it.

I'm guessing thay none of us can overclock your E4300 for you, since it's at your house, and we don't live there. Follow the guide that's already been linked for you, and you'll be fine.

I've got mine running at 3.015 GHz (335 FSB) with 4 Gb of Corsair PC6400 RAM (4 x 1 Gb at 5-5-5-18) on a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (BIOS f10) and an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. vCore is 1.440 (CPU-Z). FSB & MCH are both set to +0.1 voltage. It's stable 24 hrs both in testing (Orthos, TAT and Memtest) and in the "real" world (Crysis, FarCry, COD4, etc, etc), and has been for nearly a year now (except for one blip where I upgraded to BIOS f9...what a pain in the arse that was!).

I can't get it to post at 340 FSB but I'm not going to raise FSB or MCH voltage. I'm happy with 3.0 GHz.

Sorry dude, you got a bum chip. A really bum chip. My E4400 does 2.8Ghz on stock vcore, with the stock heatsink.

1. Follow the Mark's link to the OC guide.
2. Read guide.
3. Try easy step-by-step overclock settings described in guide.
4. Report back with results and any specific questions.

The Ninja mini cools about 13c better than the Intel stock heatsink, so you should be ok up to 3.6GHz if you have good airflow in your case. Depends on your CPU voltage too.

just do what everyone else does, start raising your fsb and prime95 testing. don't think 2.8 is what you will get. it's a guessing game. just hope you have good luck.
i have one of these chips and have oc'ed it to 2.2 on stock cooling, no issues.
