If it won't go, it won't go. Overclocking numbers are insanely inaccurate if you're going by various forums on the Internet. Typically, only those that get high clocks for their specific processor actually brag about it. Then, there's a ton of people that think they're 100% stable because they think Windows is supposed to crash once a day.
Everywhere I read about the E4300, people were bragging that 3.00ghz is the minimum it would overclock to.. So I bought one. Mine will only get to 2.7ghz with a Tunic tower, lapped, extra voltage, PC&P power supply, etc.. And I've overclocked a TON of computers. The only other people on these forums I know to be honest said 2.5 ghz and 2.7 ghz was what they could get theirs to.. Now, I'm not saying 3.00ghz isn't acheivable for E4300's.. but I would say that in my experience, it is somewhat rare.
BTW, with a TON of extra voltage (like.. 1.55v), I can make it run 'stable' for about 10 hours at 3.00ghz.. Not worth it.
