e4300 load temps

After running my e4300 for a while at 2.8Ghz load temps show upto 70C , so what you guys think ? isn't that really hot for for 1Ghz overclock ??

its stock HSF , don't know about the thermal grease (another guy assembled my rig) , casing is no-name chinese

You just identified all three of your problems.

1. Get a new HSF if you want to overclock.
2. Use good thermal grease, AS5 is preferable. Check out hte overclock guide that's stickied at the top of OC forum. It includes a link to AS5's website and recommended application.
3. Get a good case.

thanks ch33zw1z ! BTW what should be "good" load temps form my cpu ?
i already got extra fans for cooling the casing, any recommendation for a bang for bang HSF ?

i'm running the stock hsf from a 6750 on my e4500@2.8 at stock (1.75) voltage... i get up to 55c with the house at around 70f right now... i didn't try the stock hsf that came with the e4500, it's all aluminum and the 6750 hsf has a copper core...

odd thing about the stock 6570 hsf is that the outside of the fins never feels hot... my tuniq 120 gets nice and warm on my x2 when keeping it at the same temps... i'm pretty sure that the stock intel hsf is making a ok connection with the chip, but no way is the connection pressure anything like on the tuniq...

Link to Intels site, details for E4300. Aim for under the Thermal Specification for load temps
E4300

The only HSF's I've had recommended lately are: Thermalright Ultra-120, Tuniq tower. Cost a nice little chunk of change, but looks like they're well worth it...based on temps people are reporting.

As far as more fans for hte case, if the case is junk, that's going to effect temps overall.
