E4300 Core2Duo + ECS P4M800Pro-M - $129 @ Fry's

Queasy

Moderator<br>Console Gaming
lifted from FW.

$10 more than the deal yesterday but that was only at one store. This deal seems to be at the DFW, San Jose, and Atlanta stores so far.

edit: They also have the E6300 and ECS P4M800PRO-M Motherboard for $179.99.

I called one of the Atlanta stores yesterday when it was $119 and they said they didnt carry these in this region. Is the item# for this deal different?

Yeah, it was only in one California store yesterday. This is a new deal today that is being carried by more stores.

It's a different price than the deal posted yesterday. It is also available at more stores than the deal posted yesterday. It also includes a deal for a E6300.

Repost denied.

Fry's ads last from Wed to Thurs, and then Fri to Tues. Not a repost 😛

now i have to decide:

should i do E4300/P4M800 combo for $129 or the X2 4600+/Geforce 6100 combo for $119?

(keeping motherboard also, not overclocking)

First time I saw that one. LOL. Thanks made my day.

I think that ECS mobo with the AMD 4200+ has a PCI Express 16x slot that runs at 8x speed. Explain to me how they can still call it 16x?

Reminder... unless you really need it right away, intels price cuts hit around 20th (next week) and there should be better deals.

I picked one of these up this afternoon. I went in to find a replacement fan for my athlon 2600 but they didn't have any Socket A coolers, so I just bought this and a low noise fan for it. OTD was $160. And Since I have an AGP All-In-Wonder card this is fine for me as i don't have to get a new video card as this is just going to be used in the bedroom for watching TV and surfing the net from smut.

Yep. I picked one up too. My AMD64 2800+ has been freezing up on me randomly. I think I've isolated the problem down to being the motherboard since the rear audio out stopped working on it too. Might as well do a cheap upgrade while I have the chance.

Simple; they're "accepting" a 16x pci-e card. it doesn't mean that they're running it @ 16x, hahaha

but like what i read from a poster on FW, there's still a negligible difference between 8x and 16x performance

but for what you're getting, i don't see a reason for your to turn this into a monster rig, if i were getting this combo, i'd use the onboard video anyway 😛

OEM

If you need a good, cheap cooler, I suggest the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro from eWiz for $18.50 + shipping.

Fry's has the Cooler Master model ? for $17 something. It seems to be more than adequate for the E4300, even with the pin mod overclock. It's a has a 3 pin plug, so it doesn't do the var speed tricks. But, it is on the quite side , so not a real disadvantage anyway.

If you don't want to wait, this one might work for you.

Fry's B&M combo deals are always retailed CPUs.

not quite, video pho tai gan xe lua, not quite

I've bought combo deals like these before for myself and friends and the (AMD) cpu has always come in retailed box (personal experiences)
Off topic...
"pho tai gan xe lua" translates...The super bowl of special noodle beef soup.
