e4300 bad temps

I exchanged my Foxconn motherboard for GB DS3 rev 3.3, because I couldn?t OC my e4300 more than 2.4 Ghz. I put this board, set it to 333 Mhz, vcore 1.37(BIOS 1.4) and it runs flawlessly. However, core temp shows 46-50 idle and 71-75 under 100% load. ITAT pretty much the same (48/69-72). It runs on stock cooler. Is it too much? Btw, SpeedFan shows, 28/54, but I believe core temp and ITAT more. May be I need to reapply the thermal grease after putting CPU to another motherboard? Or may be another cooler? Or 71-75 core temp is normal under 100%?

I think those temperatures are getting in the high range. I had similar temperatures with the stock cooler + OC. You might want to look into some aftermarket cooling. Should help a lot.

And I would believe the temperatures of TAT rather than Speedfan. If anything, its safer to assume the temperatures are higher anyway.

as the guy above me stated, YOUR seriously asking for too much.

Your hsf isnt seatted properly or your cpu isnt flat.


What is your stepping code on your CPU? If your goign to pull that sink off, i would check the steppings.

My E6600 is L631B120 I noticed that B batches are slightly warmer then A batches.


But yes, 70C is way too hot.

I'm beginning to think that this is the major difference between the older better o/c chips and the newer more troublesome chips.

if you've reseated a few times carefully, lap that chip and see how much better it gets.
 
I've just reseated the CPU, and slightly removed some thermal grease from it, put it back, and now I have 47-50 idle / 63-65 100% load without any OC, on stock. Damn, I really consider buying new cooler. Which one do you think is good to keep my e4300 at 3-3.15Ghz, and that is not very expensive, and also it should be quiet))? And how can I totally remove termal grease from the CPU to apply the new one?
