E350 vs Sempron 130

I agree that Semprons are a good value for basic usage. But better than E350/E450? I'm not so sure. The Sempron needs a discreet gpu so that has to be accounted for in cost.

Then there's the power issue. The Sempron probably requires something like three times the power of an E350, plus you have to power the Sempron's discreet GPU.

I would throw a third contender into the mix here though, the Llano A4-3300. It uses less power than the Sempron while being more capable and there's no need for a discreet GPU.

EDIT: Does anyone know where to buy an E450/mobo? These things were released in September and I see them on ASUS' website as being released to the general market but it appears that only OEM's got them.

Did you read my post above?

^^I'm guessing no, nor any other post in this thread. Like I didn't suggest the 3300 already. Reading before posting seems to be overrated lately.

OP needs to decide on design choice. Performance per $ and upgradability will be on Sempron's side. Size and power consumption on E-x50.

Since I own a number of small systems I know this, unless you really need its looks and features, it is usually a waste of $, unless you get them real cheap.
