E3 - Valve must pay

It made an appearance in my HL:Ep2 game due to some hacks. Kind of game breaking.

I'm not sure the specifics, but basicly modding EP2 to have the gun doesn't really count : p

As an asside: While I kind of hate companies turning their back on their loyal base to reach for some quick profits, it doesn't seem like this is that big of a deal. I read the portal 2 wikipedia article, and it sounds like it's going to be pretty good.

Wasn't Gabe Newell the same guy who once said out loud that the PlayStation 3 was a big loss of time for everyone? Anyway, to be perfectly honest I hadn't followed E3 much this year, I only saw the major headlines, but when I actually read about Portal 2's announcement about its release for the PS3 I actually thought that it was just one of the couple of news coming from Valve, and I was still waiting for their "surprise", because I sincerely never thought that that announcement in itself was the actual surprise, I was expecting much more... but I guess that it is a surprise in itself since of course no one would have thought that Valve would release anything on the PS3, let alone Portal 2.

I guess it's a good thing for the PS3 owners then, but I do not own a PS3, and even if I did I would still only buy the PC version of Portal 2, so that news, that "surprise" certainly does not concern me in the slightest. I guess we'll have to wait until E3 2011 for something significant, such as Episode Three, or Half-Life 3, or whatever they come up with next in the H-L saga.

It also means you can play portal 2 and other valve games across platforms via steamworks. So PS3 and PC can play togther and agaisnt one another

is it bad that i still haven't gone more than half way through HL2 yet?

loved portal mind. hope porty 2 has a cool song at the end too 🙂

It would be cool to log into Steam on the PS3 & play most of your games.

So you buy a PC game & play it on Mac, Linux or PS3.

Would also be good for my friend who owns a sucky PC & got Left 4 Dead 2 & owns a PS3.

The bigger news is that they are actually developing for the PS3, after they said it was a shitty console to develop on.
As much as I love my PS3 for blu ray movies and the occasional exclusive title, from what I understand it still is.
But, that doesn't mean it's not worthwhile for them to do it (read: $$$).

I love Portal and my PS3, but if you're going to write a cliffhanger ending to your game, FINISH THE DARN THING!

/wants my EP3
