I suspect these people also get kick-backs from Gigabyte and Asus to promote their products.
Note the disclaimer:
We used a Gigabyte P35-DS3P, but any cheaper model of the DS3 family or similar products of other brand manufacturers should easily produce similar results.
I just picked up a E2140 and a Gigabyte P-35-DS3R yesterday at frys for 70$ and 130$ respectively.
I deliberately chose to get the cheap core 2 duo based chip and the P-35 chipset. Why you ask?
Penryn.
I am planning on using this chip until I need to upgrade or until the last chips that suppport the P-35 socket 775 mobos are released.
70$ now, and later ill just pop in a shiny new 45nm quad core, who knows maybe even more cores.
Also, this is a huge upgrade over my P4 Northwood 2.8c
