E-reader app for android?

I just got a Vizio tab for Christmas, my first tablet. I was wondering what you guys think of the kindle app versus the barnes and noble app for buying and reading books? Is one inherently better than the other or are they pretty similar. I downloaded both, but I don't want to invest in buying e-books until I settle on one. The catch-22 is, I can't really fully use the apps until I start buying e-books.

What do you guys think? Thanks!

You don't have to buy any books to try it out. With Kindle you can download samples which will give you an idea of what to expect out of the app (as well as the book). I haven't tried the B&N app, but I would be very surprised if they didn't have a similar feature.

I honestly prefer Google Books over both, but sometimes the book you want isn't available on one so you need the other as well.

My first suggestion is check your local/state library system to see what they offer as far as checking out e-books. They can work through both the B&N (epub) and Kindle (mobi) formats. Between those you might find you don't need to purchase many books at all.

I use the Kindle app, but that's because I also have a physical Kindle. For what its worth, I've had no issues with it.

I prefer kindle because there is a kindle app to read the books with on just about anything. As others have said there are free kindle books to try.

I imagine Bateluer will when he sees this thread. I would but I've never used their store as I used to have a Kindle and have never owned a Nook of any kind.
