Dear Nocturnal,
Which chipset you are using now?
Some chipsets generates more heat than others.
Even though some users have succeeded cooling the nForce3/4 chipsets with NB47J, it might be a little riskier to purely rely on the passive cooling for these chips.
To give you better support, we need more information about your motherboard, cpu and cpu cooler information in addition to the information you provided us.
Best regards,
Support
Zalman USA, Inc.
I'm just a little worried.
My system specs are as follows:
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester with retail HSF
Antec P160 case with ONE intake fan 120mm in the front
eVGA 6800GT
Antec TruePower 550W PSU
I have this other fan from my other Antec case and I plan to use some pull ties to attach to my hard drive cage and have it blow air onto the NB47J.
This is just a temporary fix though. My main concern I wanted to know what would be ideal cooling for this setup?
I plan to install the NB47J Zalman northbridge heatsink on my A8N's NB chipset.
I also ordered an XP-120 with a Panaflo Ultra High Output fan and also with that order another Panaflo Ultra High Output 120mm fan will be coming to be used as an exhaust fan for my Antec P160.
With this case there isn't much more room for any other rans unless I modify it with a drill and or dremel. I didn't plan on doing that but I would like to know what my other options are first before I think about modding the case.
