PROS: They take care of you: salaried, healthcare, housing, food, clothing, 30 days vacation per year (typically), and you get to see the world (Germany, Italy, Hawaii, South Korea, Japan, etc.), money for future education.

CONS: It's not much money, you get to see the world (Afghanistan, Iraq, where to next?), and they literally PWN you! Top physical fitness required.

talk to your local recruiter or go to the website of the branch that you are looking into. they can wow you with slogans and other stuff.
i think that they said up to 25,000 for student loans.

Most of the folks that make a career of the military aren't there for financial reasons. They have a sense of duty and feel an obligation to serve. Do you have what it takes when it comes to "gut check time"?

Pros:
- Pay is good
- Places near military installations give discounts to the military
- mortgages for housing are much better and insured by the governemtn
- you can live for free (at dormatorys) if you so desire. In some cases atleast.
- dumb hot chicks like dumb military personael.

Cons:
???? compared to the "real world", not even death is so bad.

Has nothing to do with being a pussy. It's more mental than physical. There have been plenty of cases of guys folding under pressure and it has nothing to do with physical stature.

I have heard this from several members of the Army ... sh!t rolls down hill, so if you can get your degree and go in as an officer, that's the way to do it.

Although an officer has to watch when it comes to women. A big no-no to fool around with an enlisted chick.

Pro's: Anything that will get you to stop posting has to be great

Con's: Getting pwned by bullets as opposed to an internet msgboard is slightly worse. But in your case msgboard will be a good immediate solution 😉

The pay is not much but the benefits are great. My dad supported two kids and we had a nice house and he was only a E-6. He served for over 20 years and now gets free medical from the time he retires and a pension. He also survived two tours of duty in Vietnam, he volunteered for both I think.

Free medical for you and your family
Get to shop at the PX and Commissary, no sales tax there and cheaper prices.
Free gym and other stuff like that, cheap bowling on base.
Either get Free on base housing or housing allowance this is pretty huge I think, I am paying $875 for a 2 bedroom apartment now.
Tuition assistance, my stepdad got his college paid for by the military.

And like someone else said, lots of vacation time.

The onbase housing can be really nice to, I remember living in a pretty big 3 bedroom townhome.

money!

cons:

risk of death 🙁

i have a well paying job now so money i'm sure isnt the most important factor.

Why is this a question then?

I heard the joining the service for a few years they can help eliminate some college debt...which i have plenty. I hate living in debt and even though i make good money it will still be many years before i can pay off my loans i want them payed off sooner than later so i can get on with my life.

I have my BS already and I am already working.

Ok, do you know when to keep your mouth shut and keep your snide/sarcastic remarks to yourself? I haven't seen too much of that kind of personal restraint from your post history here.

yeah i deffinitely can. I have a different personality offline. I've went to boarding school so the whole respect and order thing is allready somewhat ingrained in me.

Do yourself a favor and wait until November. I wouldn't join the military with a war-monger as a CIC. Thats just me, though.
