Dyson vacuums really suck

Kmart had thier Dyson vacuum reg. $429.99 on sale for $349.00 on Thanksgiving day. My wife has been wanting one for a few years now. I however have had better things to spend $429.99 on such computer parts and games 😉 So while she was working my son and I went up the local Kmart to look for a movie. We just happen across the vacuum section and I saw the Dyson on sale. We bought and took it home.

I used it today and had the entire house vacuumed including both stairways in 20 minutes. It does wood floors as well as carpets. The suction hose is in the handle and extends to use it so you can stand up and get into the corners and do not need a ladder for the ceiling corners. Everything is so in place it is almost like an extension of your body. That is why is it $429.99 and well worth it.

Cliff Notes.

1. Wife wanted a Dyson vaccumm for years.
2. I found better things to spend money like PC parts and games.
3. Went to Kmart where they were on sale.
4. Bought one took it home.
5. Used it and fell in love with it.

It is a nice vacuum. Thing is you can get comparable vacuums for cheaper.

I just bought the Hoover Whisper from Wal-Mart for ~$98 over the weekend. It's awesome and supposedly based on old Dyson tech. I've never used a Dyson but I can't imagine what would make anything any better than this vac! Sucked up shit out of the floor that I didn't even know existed... and I don't ever want to see again. 😛

People say the same thing almost ANY time they go from a crummy vacuum to a new functional vacuum. Dyson's aren't any better than a range of other vacuums, but they are pricier. I'm glad you like yours. But you could have the same quality and the same performance at half to a third of that price.

Miele - These vacuums suck just as well and hold up for a minimum of 30years

Regardless we love our Dyson Ball Animal, wife had to have it and the price was right

Everytime I hear the word Dyson, it reminds me of that shitty product maker Sharper Image and their garbage "Air Purifiers"!

Eureka 4870 is the way to go if you want a better vacuum ($140./$150.)

To Spidey.......... Have you done your review between a Dyson and the 4870 yet?

Yeah, Sam's Club and Walmart sell the Hoover knockoff of it for $99. It's the same design, same canister, and same look, and works just as well. The problem is it's purple and green. Someone in their design team must have loved the Incredible Hulk or something.

hell no! Too busy with vacuuming bliss! I even vacuumed the garage, deck and my lawn this past week.

Nothing can touch the dyson. No bags!

But you promised! Most people know that a good bag vaccum has the better performance.

Dyson's are good, but I couldn't justify that kind of cash on a vacuum. So I picked up a Kenmore Progressive upright on sale for $229 and it's awesome. Very highly rated by CR as well. I got the bagged version because I prefer them over the bagless, and the reviews said they work better anyway.

We bought a dyson when we moved into our new house. The wife loves it. I used it a few times and I'm not sure what to notice.

It works though.

I need a new vacuum. My POS hoover broke after 1 year. Well, it didn't "break", just the power switch doesn't work. The damn thing is in continual ON mode.

saw a whole slew of models from other brands that have the same vortex type of technology. apparently people here are saying it's the same thing... does dyson have a patent pending? if not, i don't see a reason why I shouldn't spend less and get the same thing.

lol its nothing special other than its looks which perhaps make people think its working better than it is. which i guess is clever.
consumer reports wasn't impressed with its vortex. its suction was only average.

At least the vacuum is actually functional.

What the hell will a pair of $200 jeans do that a pair of $40 Levi's wont?

Did you get the Dyson Ball vacuum? According to the Dyson commercial there is no way to vacuum anything other then a straight line if you didn't get their Dyson Ball vacuum because the wheels are fixed and don't turn on ordinary vacuums. It's a wonder that my house gets vacuumed at all with my damn fixed wheel vacuum.
