Dynamic IP on Usenet

Just wondering, if I signed up for a newsgroup service, my ISP has PPPoE with a dynamic IP. (DSL). Would I get locked out because my IP changes every few days?

Thanks!

I have cable and my IP changes every once in a while. I see no reason why USENET would lock you out just because your IP changed. Unless, your service provider said that you need to have a static IP address and that they check said IP address. If that's the case, screw that provider and go with Giganews.com.

With this in mind, what's stopping you from sharing a login between friends if they don't track IPs?

I don't know other than it's unethical.

As soon as two people logged in at the same time they would lock your account.
