Dynamic ip adressing problem

OK, I've had this network set up between two of my comps for a couple of years. We started with windows 98 and the comps could not see each other, or ping each other when set to dynamic ip adressing. So, for about a year it was set up with static ip adresses.

I just got a broadband connection, a d-link wireless router, and added two more comps using wireless networking, and all are running windows xp pro.

One computer is connected to the router via ethernet cable. Two are connected via wireless pci cards. These three comps are set to dynamic ip adressing and work fine.

There is one more comp that is connected to the router via ethernet cable and an AOpen AON-325 NIC. This one cannot connect to the internet or network when set to dynamic ip adressing. When set to static ip adressing it can browse the network, but cannot access the internet connection, even when the gateway and DNS server are set manually.

I tried swapping a wireless card from another comp into the one that doesn't work and that fixed the problem. So I thought the problem was the AOpen NIC. But when i tested it in the other comp that is connected to the router by ethernet cable, it worked fine. It was using the same default drivers in both comps.

The comp that the NIC works in has

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
Athlon XP 2600 overclocked
512mb pc3500 mushkin level 2
Radeon 9500pro
40gb Quantum Fireball
80gb Western Digital

The Comp that the NIC doesnt work in has

FIC AD11
Athlon Xp 1900
512mb pc2100 crucial
Geforce 3 ti200
8.4gb Maxtor

This has me totally stumped. I searched online and couldn't find any known issues with the NIC or conflicts with any of the other hardware. Anyone have any ideas?
