Dyna soar

Gibsons

Lifer
Dyna soar was a cold war project, designed to skip in and out of the upper atmosphere. Really neat stuff, but something I can't figure out...

There was a load of coolant located in the nose. Was this just run through hot sections of the AC and dumped into the atmosphere or cooled and recirculated (I don't see a radiator though)? If it was just dumped, what might the be the coolant of choice? I'm thinking liquid nitrogen, but then again..

The internal compartments of the Dyna-Soar were encased in 'water walls' which provided passive cooling. The internal compartments were kept cool using heat evaporation in a water wall.

The large secondary power bay also housed the glycol secondary cooling system.
