Thinking about trying these out in my truck. Before I spend the $75 to get them, anyone actually use them and like them?

My tires like to hold onto rocks. They are 35x12.50s so it takes a decent amount of rock in them to throw them off balance but it happens and once the snow hits I'm going to run into the problem of snow building up inside the wheel and it never fails to throw everything way out of balance.

Anyone running them right now?

I always thought they were snake oil, but a bunch of guys on the V-Rod forums swear by them.

I have read of a lot of guys just using airsoft beads which youy can grab down at the local Wal Mart.

If you look around a bit on-line you should be able to find a formula for pounds of beads for your tire size.

Haven't used dynabeads, but I've had experience with Centramatic setups, which operate under the same theory. These items aren't "balancing" the wheel in any true sense, what they are is actually an active vibration damper. The beads don't stop the forces that cause the out-of-balance vibration; instead they actually end up creating a matching vibration 180 degrees out of phase.

Overall they're effective, though if you watch a demonstration you'll notice that they still exhibit a very, very slight vibration (tiny amplitude, very high frequency, only going to be noticed in studying a video, won't be noticeable in practice) beyond that of a fully-balanced tire.

For off-roading I'd recommend something from either Centramatic or Balance Masters since, unlike dynabeads, the Centramatic and Balance Masters systems bolt to the hub and do not need to be replaced when the tires are changed.
