DXR3 & MPG Problems

I just installed a Creative Labs DXR3 Decoder card in anticipation of my new drive arriving. However now when I try to play an MPEG file it either plays VERY jerky or not at all leaving me with only a black screen. Any ideas? My Real Clips play just fine. And it is not all of my MPEG's just some.

System specs and driver revisions please🙂

Not trying to be a wise @ss, but it could be many different things. With what you said the only thing I can think of to try is to check your device manager and make sure that the drivers are installed properly(the DxRx boards are picky about the order in which you install the drivers, floppy first then CD or problems can pop up).

Here is the thing. I got this board second hand. I have the cd. I downloaded the drivers from Creative for Win2k and installed them. But no floppy.

Win2k, hmmm. I haven't worked with any of the DxRx boards under 2K, though I have seen reports of problems with the drivers(are they still in beta?). Not even sure if you need the drivers on the floppy at all, may be something completely different.

You might want to try this thread over in General Hardware, you are more likely to get a response from someone who has dealt with the same problem.
