DX9 and win2k...can I do this???

I know that win2k does not feature system restore BUT....

if I install DX9 and want DX8.1 back is it possible to restore it this way?

run NTbackup before installing DX9
make a SYSTEM STATE backup
then install DX9??

If I need to go back to DX8.1 if I restore the SYSTEM STATE backup will it restore DX8.1?

actually, I just did it...risking having to reinstall win2k cause I hate DX9....BUT suprisingly that system state backup worked QUITE well...
I restored it back and went to dxdiag...even the old dxdiag was restored and everything was DX8.1 just like should have been.

Everyone without win2k, theres a way to get DX8.1 back =)
