dx10 mobile gpu notebooks

Hi,
I am thinking of buying a Alienware Area51 M9750 notebook, while I know that the alienware notebooks are upgradeable, I was wondering when the dx10 mobile chipsets arrive in the market, would it be possible to upgrade or a indefinite wait is suggested till they actually arrive.

Thanks

If you can wait, then wait. When May 9th comes around, Santa Rosa (Centrino Pro) will be released and notebooks will begin to show up with that chipset. Around the same time, Direct X 10 mobile GPUs will be showing up, such as the 8600 Go.

Thanks Brainonska511,
You are the first person that has given me date, everyone else suggested the same thing but never gave me any timeframe.

I've also been looking out for some kind of MXM - 8600GT/S or 8800 GPU to come out but all the reports I've seen say it's still months off and there's never a guarantee that it will come out in a format that will allow you to upgrade your system. I just want to be able to play Crysis in DX10 mode on a new laptop but I'm afraid it's just going to be a while before that's possible. I hear that Crysis will run fine in DX9 but that it will take more power to do the same effects than in DX10 mode. Considering a laptop's inherent lack of power compared to a desktop it seems like that would be important.

The Asus F3 and G1 series refreshes are going to include the 8600GS and the 8600GT (repsectively), as well as the Asus C90 barebones notebook (8600GT). Supposedly, the X2600 is going to be heading into some HP and Asus notebooks as well, and the F8 series is supposed to be a DirectX 10 refresh of the Asus A8 series.

Asus needs to bring back the W3J with an 8600m GT.

They aren't going to do that. They discontinued the model for several reasons:

-Supposedly, it had the most problems out of their line-up
-They wanted to split the gaming and business notebooks (now you have A series for gaming and V2 for business)
-The F8 series is going to be coming out in August to replace the A series; it's supposed to have better build quality
