I've been getting this error on and off for some months now, but in the past couple of weeks it has happened much more frequently than previously (practically half the time I reboot/turn the PC off), and I'm beginning to wonder what could be wrong..
The specific error message pop-up reads:
"dwm.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x6be644c0 referenced memory at 0x6be644c0. The memory could not be written."
A quick Google search didn't lead to any real answers or quick solutions, except that somehow overclocking could cause it, hence why I'm posting on this sub-forum.
In case that's the case, here are the hardware parts I've overclocked:
My 2500k is running at 4.2, but has been doing that for several months.
My Gigabyte 670 is also overclocked a bit, nothing extreme and temps on both GPU and CPU linger in the 60s when playing BF4.
Lastly there's my memory sticks, 2x 4GB Crucial Ballistix running on the XMP profile set in BIOS (1600MHz).
The memory was installed somewhat recently (think it was 3 months ago), but I can't be sure if the errors started happening before or after that.
I hope someone can provide me with a bit of assistance in sorting this out.
Thanks in advance!
