Maybe I'm just getting cynical... this never bothered me before but recently it's been annoying me when I see a desirable girl who I feel is out of my league walk into the arms of a short, scrawny, average looking guy. Wtf? What redeeming qualities do these guys have that causes this?

Women want a partner who's confident, has a good personality and will make them laugh ( when they get into old age, beauty becomes less important ).

Of course if a man is good looking, is in good shape AND has confidence as well as a good personality with humor, that is more desirable.

I'm not looking for pity. It'd be great if people can elaborate on specific personality traits. As for money... I'm sure it's true but that's a secondary quality that has to be discovered after meeting someone.
