DVR without Tivo, basically a VCR replacement with no montly fees

We split our cable line so we can watch something different while the Tivo is recording. Not have two tuners at this point is so lame for Tivo.

That's what we do for our Tivo series 2.

Got a cheap amplified cable splitter from Radio Shack for $10.

One end goes directly to the TIVO, the other goes to the TV.
