DVI vs VGA

From personal experience, going from vga to dvi cable on my viewsonic 19" lcd, there was very little difference between the image quality, as far as i can see anyway. So don't fret if you can't get a dvi connection going, vga should be fine.

Don't take my word for it though, there are other monitors where people have reported drastic improvements, hope some more people can share their views on this matter.

DVI seems to have a bigger impact on larger monitors. On my 19" Princeton monitor I have both DVI and VGA inputs and there is a huge difference. On a 15" monitor, I'm not so sure you would notice.

My 15 inch, VGA and DVI weere just about the same, except I had to spend $10.00 for
a DVI cable. Could have stayed with VGA. Even tried diferent video cards..no dif

Others here have reported significant diferences

I've read it depends a lot on the lcd itself also. It's hard to tell the difference between dvi and vga on my sony hs94p 19" lcd.

It might not make that much of a difference on a 15" panel. I've noticed that the higher the resolution, the more the difference with DVI vs. VGA. The 17" ones at work (1280x1024), look a bit better with DVI, but my 20" 1680x1050 at home looks -much- better with DVI.
