DVI Video Card recommendations please

Thanks for a great forum. Now on to the question:

I just purchased a Dell 1800fp LCD monitor and my current computer config is as follows:
Athlon 950 Processor
384MB Memory
Riva TNT2 video (don't ask)

Am going to upgrade the computer with all the great computer deals out there, but am looking for a good card with DVI out for this monitor. Will be playing some games (probably older titles, due to 950 proc for now), but primarily will be used for web surfing/word processing.
I've been reading the forums and keep hearing about the Radeon 8500LE. I am also going to add in a TV tuner card as well (Leadtek Winfast Deluxe TV2000XP) for PVR capability.

I plan on purchasing a new computer shortly, so portability to the new system is important. Also, if you could include a card that would be good for gaming as well, it would be much appreicated. I haven't really played too many games, but after seeing some of the screenshots, it's looking like a promising venture.

People will say different things, but it depends on how much you are willing to spend:$100-160, go with a GeForce 4 ti4200 or 4400, $200, go with a Radeon 9500Pro. It also depends on how interested you are in games, as the Radeon will be better in the relatively distant future, but isn't a whole lot better now (unless you include Full Screen Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic performance, of course, but these are not as necessary as some would think).

EDIT:Sub-$100, I really wouldn't know.

An used 8500LE is a pretty good yet cheap choice.

I switched to LCD one month ago. My video card was ATi 8500LE. My LCD native resolution is 1600x1200. The 8500LE has no problem to output this high resolution from DVI port. Too bad it can handle play games in 1600x1200. Otherwise I 'd keep it longer. The money you saved can be used for later video card investment. By then it should be clear ATi or nVidia is the king.
